5月杪竣工‧重建7A碼頭浮台動工 / RM600,000 jetty ta



A new pontoon is being built in Port Klang to solve the jetty problem for the 10,000 Pulau Ketam and Sungai Lima residents who travel to the mainland daily.

The old jetty has been damaged and the new one will take about 75 days to complete.

Kapar MCA division chief Datuk Song Kee Chai said the Transport Ministry had allocated about RM600,000 for the new jetty, which would be administrated by the Port Klang Authority (PKA) and Asa Niaga Sdn Bhd.

“By right the state government was supposed to do this some time back but it was taking too long and we could not wait any longer because the residents are suffering,” he told reporters at the Royal Selangor Yacht Club yesterday.

Residents had complained that the present jetty that has been in operation since 2009, was located in deeper waters, which had forced the pontoon to crack.

The residents, mostly fishermen and ferry operators, claimed that it was difficult to dock at the current jetty because there are too many boats.

“With another one, it would be much easier for passengers to move about,” said a ferry operator, who only wanted to be known as Lee.

Lee also expressed his gratitude to Song and PKA for their efforts to address the issue immediately.

Pulau Ketam Village Security and Development Committee chairman Chia Mong Chun said the building of a new jetty had ended the residents’ two-year wait.

“Another jetty, it will definitely make things easier for the people,” he said.

He added that tourists were also among those who used the jetty to get to Pulau Ketam for the seafood.

(雪蘭莪‧巴生7日訊)巴生港務局經已通過招標委任承包商,即日展開為期75天的重建巴生南港7A碼頭浮台工程,了結吉膽島和五條港島民苦盼3年的心願。

馬華加埔區會主席拿督宋奇才指出,該項重建工程經過一波多折後,當局是於今日致電通知他上述好消息。

當局向他表示,已敲定重建自兩年前下沉的浮台,即日起火速展開興建工程,若無意外將於今年5月杪竣工。

他星期一早上在帆船俱樂部召開新聞發佈會表示,一旦浮台建竣,吉膽島和五條港的島民不需暫用不安全的碼頭。巴生港務局將負責重建工作,並交由交通部承擔建築費用。

同時,他指出,雖交通部預算需耗資80萬令吉,惟當局進行投標由承包商標得超過60萬令吉,比預算開支少。

宋奇才藉此吁請民聯政治人物不應再三炒作浮台課題,誤導兩島的居民,令居民對重建浮台事項產生混淆。

“此外,兩名雪州行政議員哈麗瑪和劉天球,應該依據雪州政府程序致函要求加速工程,而不是隨便致函催工,此舉根本無太大的效益。”

另一方面,吉膽島聯邦村長謝茂存表示,島民在這段過度期,除了曾使用海事局暫時租用的臨時碼頭,目前仍使用Asa Niaga的碼頭搭快艇來回島嶼,造成諸多不便。

“我們一直希望早日落實重建浮台工作,可以如常使用7A碼頭搭船,因此非常感謝巴生港務局和交通局的協助,得以展開重建工程。”

他說,碼頭的使用率每日可達兩三千人次,如果公共假期,前來島上觀光的遊客人潮絡繹不絕,如果繼續使用臨時碼頭,其不安全的結構將威脅旅遊業。

同時,馬華加埔區會署理主席楊志偉抨擊,民聯人民代議士在這課題上,屢次誤導人民,導致重建計劃一再拖延。
